Day 1: Flight from Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft) to Lukla (2,850m/9,350 ft)Trek to Phakding ( 2650 m/ 8562 ft )
We commence our journey to the base of Everest by flying to Lukla. The 40 minutes of scenic flight, followed by a short hike to Phakding (2,650m) is very refreshing. We hike from Chaurikharka village to Phakding where we stop for our first night at the Khumbu region. The crisp and refreshing day is beneficial in acclimatizing with the elevation. We can seize a short excursion around the village with spare time on hand. Phakding is the starting point for this trek as of which it has everything from gears and lodging to pool and restaurants. Moreover, there are few famous local monasteries (Rimishung Monastery) that we will visit. A short yet very significant day, we prepare for our long walk starting the next day

Day 2: Trek from Phakding ( 2,650 m/ 8,562 ft ) to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,285 ft)
We start early since this day as it is the first day of our trek. We continue slowly along the northern bank of the Dudh Koshi River with a beguiling view around. The thrilling suspension bridges of the Everest region makes this hike even more exciting. Adorned beautifully with prayer flags, the bridges across the Dudh Koshi River adds to a spectacular view. We reach Monjo village after a few hours of the walk, from where the Sagarmatha National Park begins. A challenging ascent awaits from here through the dense forest, where we slowly see the face of Mount Everest. As the view intensifies, the enthusiasm ensures to make us forget all the steps that we’ve climbed. Through the woods and stone paved way, we finally reach Namche Bazar. With incredible scenery and pleasing vibes, Namche Bazaar is an amazing place to relax.

Day 3: Rest day and Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar
We spend another night at Namche Bazaar, primarily aimed at adjusting with the thin air. We hike ahead, but we descend back and stay at Namche Bazaar. Despite the claim of the title, we will not just be sitting idle today. We wander through the alleys of Namche, while we adjust ourselves to the altitude. Furthermore, we can hike to Sagarmatha National Park and including a hike to Khumjung(3,790m). The universal rule of acclimatizing with the thinning air is to hike high and sleep low. It is optional yet recommended part of the trek. We visit Hillary school and old monasteries on the way to Khumjung. We can also further hike to Khunde. Namche, without a doubt, offers a lot of hidden wonders. A must-not-miss place is the Syangboche airport(3,780m), the highest airport in the world, and hike to Everest View Hotel from where the view of Mount Everest is excellent. An additional day at Namche, we can relax and enjoy the luxury of the Village as we prepare for the next walk.

Day 4: Trek from Namche (3,440m/11,285 ft) to Tengboche (3,855m/12,850ft)
The trek begins with a gentle till Phunki Village. Reaching Tengboche can be quite challenging, as we have to hike through steep uphills. As demanding as the hike might be, the majestic views of the Himalayas will make the ascent worth it! The walk uphill is supplemented by spotting of Musk Deer, Peasant, and Himalayan Thar. Stated as one of the most beautiful places in the trekking route, Tengboche has many more to offer. Blessed with the best panoramic view of the mountains like Everest(8,848m), Ama Dablam(6,812m), Lhotse(8,516), Nuptse(7,861), Thamserku(6,623m), it will forever remain cherished in our memory. Tengboche also has one of the most famous and the largest monastery in the Khumbu region, “Tengboche Monastery.” Also known as the monastery on the top of the hill, it is a must-not-miss site. We conclude the day with the peaceful sound of the prayers and the bells. As we relax, we get ready for our next walk to Dingboche.

Day 5: Trek from Tengboche (3,855m/12,850ft) to Dingboche (4,360m/14,290ft)
We’ll head towards Pangboche village(3,985m) witnessing many Stupas, Mani walls and small Sherpa villages. This trail offers a fluctuating yet admirable landscape. We start with lush alpine forest and seasonal rhododendron. As we climb higher, we can witness shrubs and a deserted landscape. Considered to be challenging, the steepest climb till Dingboche from Lobuche River turns out to be difficult due to the higher elevation and the decreasing level of oxygen. Dingboche(4,360m), as called the ‘summer valley of Khumbu’, comprises a kilometre long wall built to protect the village’s crops from the cold winds. The view from Dingboche is gorgeous with a picturesque valley and mountains giving us immense bliss and contentment. We rest here at Dingboche and enjoy the authentic Sherpa food.

Day 6: Rest day and Acclimatization at Dingboche
Today, we roam around the path of Dingboche(4,360m/14,290ft) and adjust our bodies with the thinning air. We prepare ourselves for the next ascent with light hikes. Rest day might be a deceiving title, as we don’t remain idle. The same as the earlier rest day, we hiked up and sleep low to acclimatize with the altitude. We will hike up the ridge above Dingboche and enjoy the panoramic close-up view of the Mount Lhotse(8,516m/27,940ft), back view of Ama Dablam(6,812m/22,349ft) and Island peak(6,189 m). The steep and rocky hike views enhanced and a close-up of Himalayas with every turn we take. While our body acclimatizes, we can calm our mind with amazing views of the untouched beauty of the mountains.

Day 7: Trek from Dingboche (4,360m/14,290ft) to Lobuche (4,930m/16,175 ft)
The trail to Lobuche(4,930m) is incredible with magnificent mountain views throughout the trail. The trail leads us to a short uphill near a ridge of a top shrine following the wide valley. Through a steep terminal moraine left by Khumbu Glacier(4,900m), we’ll pass through huge slabs displaced by the glacier on our way to Lobuche. As we climb higher, with every turn, we start to see an enhanced and closer view of the mountains. The hike becomes steeper and we start seeing a majestic view of the peaks as the elevation slowly increases while reaching “Thukla“- Partial view of Lobuche from the trail leads to wonder of dreams. The hypnotizingly beautiful trail will help us to cross the challenging hike to Lobuche.
On the way lies memorial statues of climbers who lost their lives on the ascent to Everest. We can spend a little time there and honour their courageous decision to conquer of Everest base camp. Despite the steep climb, as we get closer to our destination, the enhanced view motivates us to climb! With chilly evenings and a cup of warm tea, we’ll give our body a rest for the final ascent. Day 8: Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,598ft) and back to Gorak shep (5,185m/17,010 ft)
After days of walking, the day to reach the foothills of the highest mountain finally arrives. We will begin our walk to the base camp early in the morning. We pass through many glaciers, including the famous Khumbu Glacier. Beyond it, we can see Khumbu Icefall(5,486m) as well. Further enduring the wondrous journey to the base camp, we will also see the Army Mountaineers Memorials. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and Mount Everest standing right ahead of you, we will be overwhelmed by its sparkling beauty. Reaching the Everest Base Camp is a dream come true. This is the closest we will be to the highest mountain in the world. The final ascent to Everest Base Camp(5,364m) might be a little challenging due to the increasing altitude; involving rocky dunes and moraine; and a formed accumulation of unconsolidated glacial debris. With a slow and steady pace, we can, without doubt, complete the trek. We continue down the trail after captivating the bewildering beauty. After we immerse fully into the beauty of the base camp, we walk back towards Gorak Shep(5,185m) through. We may comfortably rest the remaining day there with a heart full of contentment.

Day 9: Hike to Kala Patthar(5,555m/18,208ft) - viewpoint, trek back to Gorak Shep, fly to Lukla (2,850m/9,350 ft)
Kala Patthar(5,555m) is a short optional hike from the Everest Base Camp. It is highly recommended part of the trek as it is the best viewing point of Everest and surrounding peaks. Also keeping in mind, we cannot see the Everest from the base camp with Mount Lhotse(8,516m) standing right in front of the mountain. We will hike very early to Kala Patthar to view the sunrise on Mount Everest and other peaks. Here we’ll be on the highest altitude of our entire trek. After spending a good hour here, we trek down to Gorak Shep and grab our breakfast. We return back to Lukla with helicopter after conquering the mighty trek. As we skip the downhill trail, we enjoy a scenic flight back with great comfort and relaxation.

Day 10: Fly back to Kathmandu (1,400m / 4,593 ft) from Lukla (2,850m/9,350 ft) - 40 minutes.
The flight from Lukla to Kathmandu will be a relaxing one with no more hills to climb but a heart-filled with memories. We have a final chance to enjoy the marvellous scenarios of the snow-capped mountains. We will escort you back to your hotel after reaching Kathmandu. We can manage a tour around the city as per your request. You can visit several world heritage sites around the city. As beautiful as the mountains, the culture around the city is a must-see before you call it an end to your vacation.
